How to use the Learning Lab
This page explains what the GOYN Learning Lab is, how to find resources, and what a partner account adds.
About the Learning Lab and GOYN
The Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) mobilizes opportunity youth and other community stakeholders to create collaborative, place-based systems shifts that advance equity and increase youth income, assets and agency. Opportunity youth are young people aged 15 to 29 who are out of school, unemployed, or working in informal jobs. GOYN's goal is to transform outcomes for 1 million opportunity youth and connect millions more to economic opportunity by 2030. Learn more at goyn.org
Finding resources
Search and filter from the Learning Lab home page. Visitors who are not signed in also see a Featured Resources section there. लर्निंग लैब होम
Searching
Type a word in the search box and the resources below update as you type. A resource is shown when every word you type matches something about it: its title, summary, theme, type, region, tags or author. A word that matches no resource at all is ignored. If nothing matches all of your words, you see the closest matches instead.
To ask a question instead, press Enter or select Ask AI. The AI Agent answers under the search bar and links to the resources it used. Type a follow-up question in the same box and press Enter to continue the conversation, or select Continue in AI Agent to carry on in a full page. The "Try asking" examples ask a question straight away.
Filtering
Select Filter by to open the filters: Pillar, Type, Region, Community, Community of Practice and Population. Filters and the search box work together.
- Ticking two or more options in the same filter shows resources that match any of them. For example, Region Africa and Region Asia shows resources from either region.
- Ticking options in different filters shows only resources that match all of them. For example, a Pillar and a Type shows resources that have both.
- Clear Filters unticks every filter and empties the search box.
The AI Agent page
For a longer conversation, open the AI Agent page from the top menu. You can ask in English, Spanish or Portuguese, and you do not need to sign in. Answers are generated by AI from the library, so check the linked resource before relying on a detail. Open the AI Agent
Partner sign-in
- Some resources are for GOYN partners only. Visitors who are not signed in see the resources marked as public; sign in with a partner account to see them all.
- Starring resources and the Submit new resource button are available to partners who are signed in.
Partner accounts
Sign in with your partner account using the GOYN Partners button at the top of the page. Once you are signed in:
- you can see partner-only resources as well as public ones;
- the home page shows a Recommended for you section based on the theme and region of interest in your profile;
- you can star a resource with the star on its card, and find your starred resources again under My resources in the top menu;
- you can suggest a new resource with Submit new resource on the home page. An administrator reviews each request, and you receive an email when it is approved or rejected;
- you earn badges for activity such as viewing, downloading, starring, sharing and submitting resources and completing your profile. See them on the Achievements page in the top menu.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an account to use the Learning Lab?
- No. Anyone can browse, search and filter the public resources and use the AI Agent without signing in.
- Why can I not see the star or the Submit new resource button?
- They appear only for partners who are signed in.
- Why do I see fewer resources than a colleague?
- Visitors who are not signed in see only the resources marked as public. Partner-only resources appear after you sign in with a partner account.
- How do I get a partner account?
- Contact GOYN using the link below and tell us which GOYN community or organisation you work with.
- Can I rely on the AI Agent's answers?
- The AI Agent answers from the resources in the library and links to them. Answers are generated by AI, so check the linked resource before relying on a detail.
